Here is to our Great Adventure

Exciting Adventures Ahead!

Camp has finished, and the last week has been finalized. Now, we are off to explore the beauty of the USA and Canada!

Join us as we travel through this sabbatical adventure, sharing our experiences and memories along the way! Stay tuned for updates and photos from our explorations!

Michael and Heather Reed live in Amarillo. Well we own a house in Amarillo. Heather is a Community Regional minister for the CCSW and Mike travels with her to make sure she knows where she is going and takes care of her, because otherwise she would be lost. Heather has been serving this region since 2018, with Mike retiring in 2021, and is taking a sabbatical now after serving full time since 2021. They have been planning their adventures forever and are excited to relax, rejuvenate and recharge for the future with the Christian Church in the Southwest.

Relaxing Days at Sea: Food and Fun and Relaxing

Today Friday the 24th we woke up to a misty morning with a definite chill in the air. Coffee arrived right at 7a.m. And helped my struggling eyes still not used to moving back two full hours from our time zone only to realize we would move back one more tonight.

Breakfast at the buffet along with a brief talk with Nick Jans a world renowned author made for an amazing morning. His books are based on his true life experiences in Alaska to which he signed with dedication of his late friendship with an Alaskan wolf named Romeo.

To work off a big breakfast we then cruised (pun intended) about the ship. A few pics from the aft then on to a presentation about Alaskan Wildlife presented by Nick Jans.

Lunch at Botillos was excellent. I had the octopus and a lobster roll that was to die for. (Heather had the chicken). Was a relaxing day that passed way too fast! We ate dinner at my favorite restaurant of all times The Crown Grill!
