It’s Monday in the beautiful Bay City of San Francisco. I’m certain it’s Monday wherever you are, assuming we don’t have any world travelers reading our blog.

I appreciate the presence of police cars and officers on every other block. Despite the City of Amarillo’s investment in the latest new SUVs every few years, the City of San Francisco uses its older models for many years saving money.
We got a later start today and again used the WAYMO Jaguar. Really liking this transportation. We caught our ride from Union Park to Golden Gate Park to pick up a couple of e-bikes. Got our helmets and bottles of water and insurance along with instructions on proper use. We took a practice drive up and down these mountains/streets and convinced ourselves that we could do it! Turns out putting a 64-year-old man on some speedy technology and asking his short-legged, beautiful wife to entrust those around us not to let us kill ourselves was asking too much. We realized it wasn’t worth the risk, so we returned the bikes with blades of grass hanging over the handlebars. Don’t ask, won’t tell…

After turning in the bikes, we got another WAYMO and took it all the way to the Golden Gate Visitors Center, many miles away. We know now we absolutely did the right thing. We got some great information from a park ranger, and onward we forged the two Texans. People in parkas and snow boots with snowmobile suits. Okay, I’m kidding, but they were dressed for bear hunting weather. It was a little chilly and breezy. Nice for Heather and me until we got onto the bridge. Very windy and cold, with bouts of mist coming from some fog along with a sprays of water from pressure washing by construction work on the other side of the bridge. We then dressed for our bike dodging adventure as we proceeded further down the bridge. Ring ring was constant and bikes wizzed by and joggers and people, lots of people, and bikes and traffic noise and people and more ring ring!!!

We walked past the halfway point of the bridge, kissed for luck (thanks, Corina), and came back to the Welcome Center and spent some money on a couple of books. After that it was WAYMO time babies to the Painted Ladies. Wow, what views of the city, this amazing neighborhood, and park. How many of us would get freaked out having thousands of people each year flock to your house, set up camp across the street, while posing for photos of your house for their background?

Tons more beautiful houses along with all the professional dog walkers. We took another WAYMO back to our hotel to chill before our dinner with Rich and Corina.
Rich found Heather and I wandering aimlessly in a sketchy alley here in the Union Park District. Then the three of us wandered some more before accidentally finding our restaurant. Corina drove (not a WAYMO) and parked her car a couple blocks away.
Ohh, the ears of all relatives must have perked up. Discussions of Heather and my trip were embellished with grandeur and exaltation. Along with the showing of our grandchildren’s pictures and achievements. We love you all as remembrances of how we are now and how we all were in years past. The years are slowly winning, but the promises of better days are still within us. Time is running differently now. Dinner and our gathering of family were great. Thank you, Rich and Corina, for dinner and sharing your time with us.
