Breakfast and check-out at our hotel in Georgetown, Delaware, were quick. It felt like I had been driving for hours, navigating through numerous turns and encountering State Troopers at every corner. I glanced at the clock, and it seemed to be moving backward. Along the way, I marveled at the scenic views and historic towns. However, avoiding tolls is definitely not for the faint of heart. One wrong turn, and you might end up with; Give me your wallet!

We made a stop at a rest area to walk around and take a break from the car. I snacked on some Jalapeño cheese popcorn we picked up at our Buc-ees stop a few states back. Then back on the road. A hundred years later and many more hills, mountains, turns we made it to Camp Laurelview. Wow a beautiful place and a restored farmhouse.

We met Bonnie. Her and her husband take care of the property. She unlocked all the buildings for us so we could take pictures and look around.

Next was the Camp Directors and Staff building.

We drove 12 miles to town for dinner at a Ruby Tuesdays restaurant. The food was okay. Afterward, we went to WalMart to buy drinks and snacks. Heather had a face-time with Rhyder, who now frequently pounds his dad’s phone into the floor and hangs up on her. He had his first haircut and has no more curls.

When we arrived at the Camp, we were greeted by a large group of geese gathered near the pond. As we headed to dinner, the number of geese increased significantly. However, when we returned, they had mysteriously disappeared. We eagerly anticipate the possibility of encountering them again. Additionally, we were fortunate enough to witness a beaver 🦫 gracefully crossing the road near the shop. Unfortunately, I was too slow to capture the moment with my camera. Heather managed to spot the impressive creature and didn’t get a picture either. It was pretty cool! 😎
