Greetings from Charlottetown Prince Edward Island, Canada! We are in port for two days! Lots to see and do. We got a late start but made it to breakfast. I wanted an omelette for breakfast but the long line to order detered me. One person was giving multiple orders so I settled for the usual scrambled eggs again.

Once we walked the plank and onto the pier we were met by my photographer friend Ikedek (I-Kad-ee) who is putting together some special metal pieces for Heather and I. I took his picture before he took ours. Lol 🤪 In the first stop off the ship was our meeting point for our excursion. Heather was shopping around and bought some great shortbread cookies, yum!

Our bus ride to The Green Gables was nice. Our driver Ken navigated the streets like a true professional. He retired and moved here to get away from the big city in Calgary, Canada. We arrived and were told to be back at the bus in one hour by our monotoned guide named Carl. He has such an obsession with John Deer Tractors. He joked that if his wife and him had another child he’d name it John Deer. Also, our guide suggested to all on the bus to go straight to the house first. Then work your way around the grounds of The Green Gables. Got to the house and it looked like an hour long line. Wow so we went about and looked at the few things we could see. Quite disappointing to Heather and I. Best thing we did was get a Caramel macchiato and a peanut butter with m&ms beaver tail. Even more yummy. 😋 Heather made a quick stop in the gift shop and got a couple of stickers. Then back on the bus with a minute to spare.

We stopped for a smooch on lovers lane.

We never made it inside the house. When we went back the line was even longer.

The bus tour put us both to sleep luckily at different times so we could wake each other before the snoring got out of control. With one exception. The first time Heather started rocking the bus I was looking around for an injured moose. 🫎 Then I found out the island’s largest predator is a coyote. Go figure…The island does have livestock, no deer.

As we returned back to the ship we ran into our Kansas friends Jacob and Abigail. We caught up on recent adventures. They did the same excursion only a few hours earlier than us. We parted ways and went looking for dinner but decided to eat on the ship and save some money. We then walked to the terminal.

This plaque was mounted on the terminal wall. I spied it as we were returning to our ship. The Norwegian Jewel was our first cruise ship.

I told Heather we’ve been traveling so long, Mr. Rhyder is now driving. Thank you our favorite (Misty) for sharing. We will FaceTime later tonight.

We dropped our backpack off and headed to the buffet. Was filling but seemed flavorless. Our next stop was to find a bar open and order some bottled water! Yep 👍 H2O. Now we are kicking back relaxing. Watching Legally Blonde. The ship has a dated movie and TV series selections.

We pause for a moment and we reflect on our journey and give our thanks to God for allowing us to experience these moments, experiences, and creating memories for our lifetime.

We miss our family and friends. Secondarily, we miss the comforts of our home. We are just passing the halfway point and are looking forward to seeing more of God’s Glory.

We also miss the people and pets in our lives who have passed before us. We will carry them with us in our hearts forever.
