On the road again! Today was a drive day leaving after breakfast in Ottawa. Our first stop was in Arnprior, which means Where the rivers meet. Heather found us a get out of the car and walk around spot called Gillies Grove Nature Reserve. It’s a beautiful place full of giant white pine trees and dark black squirrels. They’re definitely preparing for a long winter.

With our legs stretched and thoughts of more Timbits and coffee our next stop was a mile away. Tim Hortons the name. We love them cups of Joe and filled holes. The Harry Potter’s are the best ones to me.

Next drive through for some murals was a town called Pembroke. Nice looking place. Friendly neighborhoods and lots of murals. We took a few pics and drove on.

Next we turned the corner and was almost home! Nope, same neighborhood street sign. Thought we made another wrong turn in Albuquerque again didn’t you!

Anyway, onwards to the North Bay. We scheduled a stop at a Provincial Park with picnic tables so we thought. We arrived and it would cost $21 bucks Canadian for day use. Any discounts apply only to residents of Canada. We were just going to eat a peanut butter sandwich and some chips and drive on. So this place was a pass. It’s named Driftwood.

So we drove some more, maybe three hundred miles or kilometers at the pace of 90 kilometers per hour. And suddenly we spied a picnic area with toilets. Yippee!! Skippy! Okay it was Kraft Peanut Butter. Good goobers Maynard. I pull out our specifically purchased wheat bread and a wooden utensil acquired from Tim Hortons and le Chef produced two magnificent peanut butter sandwiches. We had chips but they were a pass and cold drinks from our little cooler. The scenery was amazing. Heather took some great photos.

After filling our tanks and gurgling some sodas, we were off again. This time was another meeting of the rivers in Manatwa. The statue of a local legend Joe Muffraw.

Final stop of the day North Bay, Ontario Canada.

Internet access and phone service is poor in this area. Heather paced around lost without her technology. I still have service since my phone plan is not the deluxe one. ☝️

We drove another 8 thousand kilometers to dinner. Okay it was 5 miles (just seemed longer) to a restaurant called Casey’s Restaurant and Bar. The food was pretty good. I just don’t care for the Canadian version of coleslaw. Also Heather has learned that Canadian restaurants don’t usually serve cold tea. They have hot tea and most don’t have Dr. Pepper either. Double whammy! “Water please.”
