Good morning from San Francisco! What beautiful weather today, and plenty of sunshine. Even though I tried my best to find shade, the medications I’m taking aided in my lobster-esque color. You know it’s true that we are what we eat. Look out, SpongeBob, for I am the Crusty Crab!

We started this fine day with a ride in an autonomous vehicle. A Jaguar, in fact. Story in a separate post. We got to see the Lombard Road winding down the steep road. Nope, I wouldn’t drive it for fear of replacing my brakes afterwards.

Our destination was Pier 39 and we made it before the crowds started. Up on the Skyride to see great sights from above. Lots of fun enjoying the sights.

Lunch at a Simmons restaurant called Eagles Landing. Heather had a good burger and I the fish and chips. Onward we went, charged the two Texans! Shopping and viewing and shopping and viewing repeatedly. Ohh we stopped and took a break with the sea lions. Lots of videos.

After a few hours, my stomach spotted a Nathen’s Hot Dog stand, and yes, I grazed on a hot dog. Yum. Heather and I watched a robot dog do its thing and were a little unnerved seeing how nimble and fast this robot could maneuver. This one looks like the military versions minus weapons attached. The big robot seems like a movie prop that could become a real war weapon. We like our Astro as is, barely can tote a Dr Pepper and a bag of chips, not a machine gun.

Onward again, this time to catch a ride on a streetcar (not named Desire) heading to the chocolate factory.

We sampled chocolate and wandered around vast forests of shops filled with all sorts of delicious chocolate products from cocoa to fuzzy embroidered logo bears. What great marketing for saving memories. Yes, I got another bear! Heather and I split some ice cream with Ghirardelli salted caramel square in a salted caramel fudge sundae. Delicious… and of course non-fattening.

We took a Lyft back to the hotel with a very nice driver from Turkey, who told us of great plans of creating a partnership with his friend to buy a farm in Idaho and raise sheep. We called our family to check in and saw Rhyder take two more steps and then fall down. We talked to Mom and Dad also. We then headed to dinner at a nice local 50’s cafe that had a full car inside with the RCA dog Nipper on top famous for his tilted head with ears angled to listen. We both had breakfast for dinner. Awww great coffee!
This concluded our day
