Burrrr! Definitely big coat weather today. We had our canned Starbucks Coffee and croissants for breakfast with some 3% milk. Yep! It’s 3%. Like American 2% only 1% better, lol. We packed our lunch with some peanut butter sandwiches, some snack mix, water and a couple of Tim Horton’s cookies.

We picked up a map and a few stickers along with some informational interactive experiences.

Heather was being mean to me again today. When we saw all the recommendations if you were to encounter a bear, she said “I’m just going to push you down and run away!” Ohh I laughed and laughed…then she asked what I found to be so funny?

I told her that would just leave her to leading the bear away. Cause knowing her actions in advance she’s going to have a pocket or two full of bacon! 🥓 Just sayin’…Haha… bacon babies!

We drove, we hiked, we drove some more. We enjoyed this Park immensely. We took a few trails and captured many beautiful views.

Heather and I saw a beaver 🦫 working on his dam house. Pun intended. Heather’s phone was dying and I was to slow to get mine out and the beaver 🦫 ran across his build.

We followed a river for a bit and hiked all around. Then all of a sudden there was movement in the heavy brush and Heather shouted “Bear!” She pushed me down and started running! Okay she didn’t shout Bear she didn’t push me, yet! She blurted “Be careful, I heard a chuff!” Not knowing what a chuff was, I was surprised and looking 👀. I think moreover it was a deer, but it was alone. I think a moose 🫎 would have been way over my head. Pun intended again.

We had a picnic lunch at Waterton Lake just before the beaver 🦫 sighting. My compliments to the chef and her generous usage of her favorite Kraft Peanut Butter. (Seeking Commercial Endorsement) and Tim Horton’s fresh baked cookies. (Again, Seeking Commercial Endorsement)

We checked out our village and its offerings. We purchased some maple candy we’ve been searching for since leaving Quebec City. Maybe another stuffed animal or two and some maple syrup for da house! We just have to declare everything we bought, even duty free stuff, keep our receipts and present to the Border Security if requested.

We met a nice couple from Alberta, we took each others pictures. Then they asked about Red Rock from which we had just come. The gave us some tips on where to stop on our journey to Vancouver. Nice people with a heavy accent. (They probably thought the same thing)

Tonight’s dinner is at Zums. We had the chili with a basket of fries. Chili was good and so was the fries.

We went for coffee before looking for tonight’s Harvest Moon. Next we followed instructions on where our best viewing would be and the time expected. We showed up and there was a big coyote milling around. We waited for him/her to move on. When we saw the coyote crossing the road we thought it wouldn’t take a minute to return. So we left.

Heather was busy taking some beautiful pictures and decided to take a couple of me. Why? Because that’s what we do. Anywho, we are talking and all of a sudden she says “There he is!” “He’s behind you!” Then she pushes me again! Okay I’m embellishing again. No push. I am thinking bear 🐻 and trying not to move. What’s behind me as Heather is fumbling with her phone. The coyote! And I turn just in time to see it strutting down a hiking trail. I got up Heather grabbed a big stick and we hurried back to our car.

We waited in the car, ended up driving around and couldn’t get a good view because of some cloud cover. We gave up, the chill in the air was enough for us to retreat to the comfort of warm toasty cabin. We had coffee and pie! (Local grown apple and caramel pie) named the Grizzly Bear Pie. So the bear didn’t eat us thank goodness. We ended up eating the Grizzly Bear! Go figure just sayin’….

What a great day we had. We both wished we had more time here. It’s the end of the season for this village and most shops will be closed by the end of this week. Today was busy with some places crowded but tonight is noticeably vacant.
