Canadian Rocky’s Mountains are holding the rain in between the peaks. Very cool and light drizzle.

We went to McDonalds this morning. Heather was wanting a biscuit but we found out they don’t do biscuits in Canada. lol

Anywho, we drove down the road a bit to a roadside stop and ate our McDonalds takeout. The rain had stopped and I managed to snap a few pictures of the breakfast views.

Onwards drove the two Texans until, dun, dun, duunnn….click, click, click, went the front driver’s tire. As I looked for a pull out or an intersecting road there was a loud thud and no more click, click, click.
Warning Reed’s!!! Sudden drop in tire pressure and I could barely get to the almost no shoulder. I did manage to get a meager few feet away from the shoulder’s white line. That’s all she wrote. We called roadside assistance and were given the Canadian number. He said they would prioritize us because of where we were located on the roadside.

Well a hour and 20 minutes later a nice young man showed up in his pickup with a floor jack. He changed out the back tire to the front and placed the donut on the rear. I tipped him well for his efforts.

Away we go to the nearest town and we ended up at Kal’s Tire. A very busy large shop. We have been here days and they don’t understand English. I have repeated myself many times to too many people involved in purchasing, replacing, mounting and balancing, installing onto the car and torque. They were all very friendly but no sense of time. We ended up 6 hours later after all the comical things. They don’t have the right tire, we already paid, they overcharged on services, and lastly they lost the key fob! Ohh leave the tire and go to lunch it will be ready when you get back. We haven’t started it yet.
By now i am thinking they are filming us for some comedy show to be aired only here in British Columbia. Heather called the emergency line to see about switching vehicles. They send us down the road after the manager puts out an APB on the fob. We got a full refund. At the Enterprise Rental we listen to the manager talk seemingly forever to another party as we waited patiently. Then he said where they have to drive 30 minutes to get us a car. He also said there was not another Enterprise Rental within 5 hours either way from where we were. In the meantime we wait even longer.

Heather and I returned to our rental to organize our transfer of stuff. It was just 25 minutes waiting and the other rental showed up. We thanked them and we went on our way.

It rained the entire next 3 and a half hours drive through so many curves and climbs and long descents.

Through fog and rough roads we finally made it to our destination in Nelson Canada. We now smell burning oil coming from the car. The engine is to hot and it still raining outside to check it out. I will look it over first thing in the morning. We hope that whoever changed the oil just spilled some on the engine block.

So tired. We are thankful for getting here safely and as I look back at today’s events. How fortunate our journey has been for the thousands of miles we have traveled without vehicle problems. We put 3,100 miles here in Canada so far. We’ve driven around 7,400 miles on this journey and we are not done yet.
Heather and I will share our prayers for all people affected by ongoing flooding and tornadoes.
May God keep you safe from harm as you escape with little or no damage. May the rain bring its benefits to the earth and the floods subside and fill the lakes. Look towards the horizon as the sun begins to shine and the rain has washed everything bright and new. May the love of God and the life of Jesus bring hope and safety to each person tonight. Blessing and Amen
