Yippee! We got some much-needed rain early this morning. The clouds were rumbling with rolling thunder. Granny was bowling strikes in a perfect game. Heather and I were up and down, passing in the night. I went to get a drink of water, and Heather had been checking on the rain. Back to bed went the two Texans, for sleep was still in our forecast. Today, we accomplished sleeping in and awoke to the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Awe, the simple pleasures.
Today started for Heather going to see her friend Ben, who does her pedicure. He is a very friendly person who shakes his head a lot and speaks broken English. He takes good care of Heather’s feet and works with dedication in getting them right. I went with Heather her last time and got my first pedicure. I got worried when my technician pulled out a cheese grater and went to town. Panic tried to set in as I was losing skin fast. During my session, I had a group of elderly ladies giving me some weird glances. I guess I was growling, grunting, or crying when the hot stones contacted my calves and feet.
Again, Heather was having way too much fun with me in another situation. Anyway, back to the present day. I stayed home sorting and packing winter gear. Organizing my medications for travel. I then jumped to preparing for the arrival of Mr. Rhyder. His daycare upon pick-up told Heather that the wipes and diapers were in Rhyder’s bag. Nope, she had to make a stop to get them and found out the hard way. So Dollar General was the next stop before home.
Rhyder has arrived with a full head of the blondest, curly hair. Oh, he has grown. Walking when he wants, but he knows he’s faster crawling. Yep! Heather and I were busy keeping up with Rhyder.

This young man is fast! We got our new luggage today from Amazon, and of course, Rhyder went for the box. It’s now a fixture in our living room. He ate like a horse and loves Paxton’s and Payton’s old table and chairs. He loves the chair; it’s his size.

His Nonie kept him entertained with songs and dance moves. All three of us played together, rolling soft animal-decorated balls back and forth. He likes to throw them just like his dad does. Not a Nolan Ryan yet, but he will get there.
Before we knew it, time got away from us as I started preparing for dinner, as Misty and Scotty would be joining us. Heather fixed the main course, for a salad pile-on, and I made some stuffed mushrooms. Dinner was delicious, and our conversation was even better, catching up on the Simmons. They need a blog for us to follow e.g. The Adventures of Rhyder. He napped until it was time to say good night.

So good night to all our friends and hope you had a great day as we did.
