What a great day not to be working! That’s what she said. Heather, that is! I say it all day, every day. Glad to be a part-time “Chauffeur” and “Traveler” with my beautiful wife as my compadre in crime.
We escaped from Thackerville, Oklahoma, and drove to Durant, Oklahoma, for a buffet lunch. With a quick stop at the Denison Dam.

The food was delicious, and we love eating at Butterfield’s. It’s named after the Butterfield Overland Mail stagecoaches. The coaches traveled at an average speed of 4.5 to 6 miles per hour. Operating 24 hours a day, they covered roughly 100 miles per day to complete the 2,800-mile journey between Missouri and San Francisco. It only took about 24 to 25 days to make the trip.
Anywho, we left Durant and proceeded on to Pocola, Oklahoma. Our room was ready and waiting. We got the VIP treatment, and our room was huge! I mean Texas big! My first apartment wasn’t this large. And it was all gratis. (Free)

We got organized and went down to our restaurant, the Seven Ponies, for dinner and it was amazing. Yes you guessed it. All you can eat Crab Legs! Heather had the beef stir fry. I had two serious servings of Crab Legs! I’m back babies! The crackin, the snapping, the little flinging of crab boil seasoning flying around! Awe the joys of that sweet steak of the sea. We even got 25% off our check. VIP has its perks. Sorry Misty for having some crab again without you!

We have now relaxed in our huge room and are getting ready for some sleep. Tomorrow is a huge drive day! We are coming Jinger.
