Last night, we finally got some good sleep. Our room at the Hampton Inn in Niagara Falls was clean and quiet. It was on the first floor, close to the lobby. The only downside was the breakfast. The dining area was crowded, and the food was mediocre. We grabbed coffee and yogurt and headed back to collect our luggage. On the road again.

Our drive today spanned over 6 hours, taking us across New York State and into Vermont. We’re currently staying at a charming ski resort and spa. For dinner, we had pizza and a sub, and then we returned to the lodge. The air is filled with smoke, possibly from the Canadian fires.

Relaxing now. We’re finalizing the details of our Boston Marathon trip. We’ll be leaving Vermont, traveling through New Hampshire to Massachusetts to Connecticut, Rhode Island, and back to Worcester, Massachusetts, for Sunday night. We’ll need to drop off the rental car at a specific location and time. We’ll also need to purchase tickets for the Tuesday game and a stadium tour. We’ll pick up medication from the Walgreens downtown Boston. We’ll explore our public transportation options and routes. The two Texans are planning to visit Harvard and take the Red Brick Trail, also known as The Freedom Trail. Finally, we’ll arrange transportation to our ship with our luggage.

I’m definitely in need of a break from driving. I’ll provide the final total of miles driven when we return the car. It’s definitely overdue for an oil change and having the brakes checked. We’ve been fortunate to have an average gas mileage of about 26 mpg. Not too shabby for the squirrels working overtime under the hood.
