Today was an incredible day. I’m so grateful for all the amazing people here in Boston. Only half of you honked, yelled, or gave me the finger. Despite the challenges, I managed to navigate through the traffic safely and successfully returned Ole Gray the Sante Fe. It was a decent car, but it definitely needs new brakes, and I’m certain the oil change is far overdue. We drove it to the seventh floor of a parking garage and left it there running. Okay it is where the rental car agency is located and how the parking agent said to leave it.

We got an Uber and made it to the cruise terminal. It was awful. The longest lines and standing room only. We were grateful that it was only an hour long slow moving process. Heather was trying to get me probed again when going through security. My wife thinks it’s funny how I am singled out. I told her it is because of how I hung out so long with the criminal element. AKA Globe News folks, just kidding.

As we were being herded and branded Heather and I met an amazing couple. Larry and Ron who live here in Boston. Larry is an Ordained American Baptist Minister who manages a Methodist Retreat Center just outside of Boston. He and Heather have a lot in common and he had many questions for her. Amazing how we were in line together and initiated a conversation with these awesome people. We talked all the way through security and onto the ship. We hope to see them again.

Our room is at the very back of the ship and has a deluxe balcony that faces the aft end of the ship. Very cool view. Nice smooth cabin. Just a constant rumble from the air ventilation system.

Dinner was great at my favorite restaurant The Crown Grill. We met a couple from Kansas. He is an auditor and she works in housing for the State of Kansas. They were celebrating 15 years of marriage today. We talked all through dinner and dang it we forgot their names. They are from Hays Kansas. Update…Jacob and Abigail, nice people!

After dinner the wife and I strolled around the ship taking a few pictures and now it’s time to go unpack. We have an early excursion in the morning. Going to see someone about a lighthouse, a lobster roll, some clam chowder and Whoopi pies. Look out Portland, Maine the two Texans are heading your way.

Scotty is busy today. Here’s some of what he is working on. We managed to get a quick FaceTime while leaving Boston’s port. Proud of you Son and Misty. Missing our Rhyder!
